a. Who can submit abstracts to KIPI? Siapa saja yang boleh mengirim abstrak untuk KIPI?

KIPI is open to all Indonesian students who are studying within and outside of Australia. The primary requirement is to be an Indonesian citizen and to be enrolled in an institution of higher learning (undergraduate/postgraduate/vocational students) at the time of the abstract deadline on 8 December 2019.

KIPI terbuka untuk semua mahasiswa Indonesia yang sedang studi di Australia ataupun maupun di luar. Ketentuan utama adalah Anda harus punya kewarganegaraan Indonesia dan saat ini terdaftar dalam pendidikan tinggi (Sarjana / Pascasarjana / sekolah kejuruan) pada deadline abstrak tanggal 8 Desember 2019.

b. What do I include in the abstract? Apa saja yang saya masukan di abstrak?

While we have no strict guidelines on the layout of the abstract, we do recommend that you follow the following structure.

Identify the problem that you seek to address.
Provide the framework you use to achieve your solutions.
Provide your solutions to the problem.

You must also add at least two keywords to your abstract and a title.

Please send us your abstracts in either Microsoft Word or pdf form. In the abstract, please include the title of your paper, along with the name(s) of the author(s) and their institutional affiliations.

The one-page abstracts should be typed using 12 pt Times New Roman, single-spaced on standard A4 paper (297 x 210 mm), leaving a full 2.5 cm margin on all sides. The abstract should begin with the title (bold, times new roman font, 14 pt, centered), the authors’ names (times new roman font, 12 pt, centered) and affiliations (italic, times new roman font, 12 pt, centered). Please provide up to six keywords in italic 10 pt font.

d. What happens if my abstract is selected for KIPI? Apa yang terjadi jika abstrak saya di pilih untuk KIPI?

If your abstract is selected for KIPI, we will ask you to write a 1,500 words essay. The essay will be compiled and turned into a policy recommendation book, which we will give to Indonesian policymakers.

We will also invite you to Canberra, Australia, where you will presented in front of some of the leading scholars of your field, as well as some Indonesian policymakers we will invite.

Jika abstrak Anda kami seleksi untuk KIPI, kami akan meminta Anda untuk menulis esai sepanjang 1.500 kata. Esai tersebut akan kami kompilasikan dan jadikan buku laporan rekomendasi KIPI yang akan kami berikan kepada perwakilan pemerintah Indonesia.

e. Does the abstract have to be in English? Apakah presentasi/abstrak/policy paper harus dalam Bahasa Inggris?

The abstract, as well as presentation, will have to be in English. However, your policy paper may be written in either Indonesian or English.

Abstrak, serta presentasi, harus dalam Bahasa Inggris. Namun, policy paper boleh dalam Bahasa Indonesia atau Inggris.

f. What do I have to include in the abstract? Apa saja yang harus saya tulis untuk abstrak?

First, you must indicate why your topic is significant and requires the attention of the government. Second, explain the solutions to the problems that you seek to solve. Third, provide a framework to explain how your solution may help us address the issues pertaining to human capital development.

Also

Pertama, indikasikan mengapa topik Anda signifikan dan perlu perhatian pemerintah. Kedua, jelaskan solusi-solusi Anda untuk menghadapi masalah tersebut. Ketiga, berikan framework Anda untuk menjelaskan bagaimana solusi tersebut dapat membantu menghadapi masalah-masalah terkait human capital development.

g. Is there funding available to help with travel / accommodation costs? Apakah ada dana yang tersedia untuk membantu biaya perjalanan / akomodasi?

The KIPI committee is working to secure funds to subsidise travel costs. We will update this section of webpage shortly.

h. Where is KIPI going to be held? Dimana KIPI akan diadakan?

KIPI will be held in Canberra, Australia on 17-18 April 2020.

i. What happens on KIPI 2020? Apa saja yang akan terjadi di KIPI 2020?

KIPI will last for two days and will primarily consist of research workshops and panel discussions (where you will present). The first day will be dedicated to research workshops, where we invite some of the world’s leading scholars based at the Australian National University and University of Canberra to teach you how to improve your presentation skills, report writing skills, and give you tips on how to get into a PhD program. The second day will consist of panel sessions where you will pitch your ideas to some of the leading scholars in your field, as well as Indonesian policymakers who will attend to watch.

KIPI akan berlangsung selama dua hari dan akan terdiri dari research workshop dan diskusi panel (di mana Anda akan berpartisipasi). There is no registration fee. But all attendees will need to make their own arrangements for flights and accommodations.
